About the Project
The Osmangazi Bridge (other known name İzmit Körfez Bridge) is a suspension bridge, located at the Gulf of İzmit along the eastern end of the Sea of Marmara, in close vicinity of Izmit and approximately 50 km southeast of Istanbul, Turkey. The 2,682-meter long Osmangazi Bridge is said to be the fourth-longest suspension bridge in the world & the second longest in Europe
The bridge, which is completely constructed of steel and has a main span of 1550 meters, hangs at a height of 64 meters above the Sea of Marmara in a region of earthquake-prone south of Istanbul. For this reason, it has a structure equipped with a special technology that continuously informs the bridge operator of all events outside of normal by measuring jerk, motion and load continuously.
In the technical lighting design of the project, special solutions are presented for different lighting requirements for viaducts, steel and concrete decks, platforms and electrical buildings. Products with high protection class and resistant to high temperature changes are used for viaducts.
